Created for, by and with youth, this event brings together young Catholics from all over the Seattle Archdiocese in addition to delegations from Eastern Washington, Oregon and Canada. Open to all high school students attending with a parish or school group.

Archbishop J. Peter Sartain

Archbishop J. Peter Sartain, was installed as the ninth Bishop and fifth Archbishop of Seattle on December 1, 2010.  He will join us this weekend for closing liturgy, workshops, as a General Session presenter and be with us in our prayer and community as we grow in our relationship with Jesus Christ and His Church.

He was born in Memphis, Tennessee.  On July 15, 1978 he was ordained to the priesthood for the Diocese of Memphis. He served as a pastor in Memphis from 1992 to 2000.

Blessed Pope John Paul II appointed Archbishop Sartain bishop of the Diocese of Little Rock, Ark., on January 4, 2000.  He was ordained on March 6, 2000 and took as his episcopal motto:  “Of You My Heart Has Spoken” (Psalm 27:8). He was appointed bishop of Joliet, Ill., by Pope Benedict XVI on May 16, 2006 and was installed on June 27.

Mike Patin

Mike Patin lives in Lafayette LA.  He is a husband, and a dad of one daughter.  He spent 6 years as a high school teacher and coach, and has worked in youth ministry since 1990. He’s been a summer camp counselor as well as an assistant coach for a college basketball team.

He now speaks around the country to teens and adults about Catholic faith, positive attitude, using your gifts and living life fully.

He enjoys:

  • Hanging out with his family
  • music (lots of different kinds),
  • sports (his favorite is college basketball)

Sr. Miriam James Heidland

Sr. Miriam James was raised in Woodland, WA and is a graduate of the University of Nevada-Reno where she played volleyball on a scholarship and majored in Communications.

Upon graduation, she joined the Society of Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity (SOLT), a missionary community that serves global areas of deepest apostolic need. Sr. Miriam has served in New Mexico, Rome, and North Dakota and is presently at St. Alphonsus Parish in Seattle where she serves as the Director of Novices and works at St. Alphonsus School.

She also co-hosts the show “Sisters in Christ” which can be heard on Sacred Heart Radio, AM 1050.

Her story has been featured in the Seattle Times, The National Catholic Register and heard on Relevant Radio, Catholic Answers Live and EWTN’s Life on the Rock.

Ted Miles

Ted Miles is a native of Baltimore, Maryland and has worked for Catholic Relief Services since July 2005 as the Relationship Manager for Religious Education and coordinator of the agency’s youth outreach in the U.S.  He served for two years as a Jesuit Volunteer in education and youth ministry in Belize and Guatemala, Central America. Since, Ted has served in parish youth ministry, social ministry and Catholic high school education and faith formation for over 25 years.  His work includes the development of the Archdiocese of Baltimore Justice Action Week – an urban immersion experience for youth rooted in Catholic Social Teaching, presentation at numerous regional and national conferences, and facilitation of numerous international immersion experiences for CRS and  the Archdiocese of Baltimore. For his commitment to and work with young people, the National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry awarded Ted a national award for leadership in youth ministry in the area of gospel values of peace and justice in 2009.
