RULES
  • Distances will be 1/2 mile for the K-3 runners, 1 mile for the 4th and 5th graders, 1-1/2 miles for the 6th and 7th graders, and 2 miles for the 8th graders.
  • Parish/School team scores will be kept at the championship meet only. Scores will be based on the following:1st = 20 points
    2nd = 18 points
    3rd = 16 points
    4th = 14 points
    5th = 12 points
    6th = 11 points
    7th = 10 points
    8th = 9 points
    9th = 8 points
    10th = 7 points
    11th = 6 points
    12th = 5 points
    13th = 4 points
    14th = 3 points
    15th = 2 points

             Every runner after 15th place, who finishes the racecourse, is guaranteed 1 point for his or her team.

  • A sportsmanship trophy will be awarded to the team that most personifies the philosophy of CYO Athletics with input from the participating teams. 
  • A trophy will be awarded to the top 3 teams with the most points.  Individually, T-shirts will be awarded to the first 6 place finishers in each division. Places 7 through 15 will receive “place” ribbons.  All K-3 runners will score one point for their team, and receive a participant ribbon, no matter what place they finish.
  • Runners must finish at least one of the preliminary meets to be eligible for the championship meet.
  • For the preliminary meets there will be two meets per day.  Meet one will start at 1pm, and Meet two will start at 3pm.  The K-3 Final will start at 1pm as well as the 4th-8th Championship Meet.
  • There will be a walk-thru 1/2 hour prior to the start of the first preliminary meet for both pools.
  • Course monitors (volunteers) will be needed for all three meets. All monitors will need to attend an on-site walk-thru meeting before the first preliminary meet. 
  • Meets will be held at Woodland Park in Seattle.
