Volunteer
CYO would be nothing without the people who work so hard to deliver great programs and share their faith with the hundreds of campers who come through our programs every year. Currently, we have several opportunities available to give of your time and talents to help improve our programs and facilities. Please consider volunteering, as your help is vital to our ability to deliver the amazing camp experiences that touch so many lives!
Point of contact for Catholic Schools
CYO is looking for contacts in Catholic schools to promote summer camp. We have a great start since many of our great alumni and friends are teachers in Catholic schools. You know better than anyone else how incredible the CYO experience is AND you know your school community. The responsibilities are relatively simple, and the rewards for CYO enormous. Responsibilities: Ensure summer camp brochures get distributed to the students school-wide, coordinate a CYO parent/student information night (we will provide the presenter and materials), encourage other faculty and staff to promote CYO by providing information in classrooms. Please email Debbie if you’d like to be the point of contact for your school or know of someone who would be a great contact. debbie.fisher@seattlearch.org . As a thank you, we’d like to invite you to celebrate the amazing community of Catholic schools with CYO roots at a special dinner and campfire at camp this summer.
Parish Representative
CYO hopes to expand its Parish Representative program to more efficiently promote camp to the parents and children of each parish in the Archdiocese. It is our hope that every child and parent in your parish will know the benefits CYO camps offer. This is where we need your help! CYO friends and family are our best recruiters. Responsibilities: Ensure the parish has brochures, set up a time to either speak at mass or have an info table, and finally, ensure youth ministers and DRE’s have brochures. Please email Debbie debbie.fisher@seattlearch.org if you would like to be a Parish representative. We have over 100 parishes in the Diocese , so we need everyone’s help! As a thank you, we’d like to invite you to a special dinner and campfire at camp this summer.
CYO Labor Force
Do you have a knack for fixing things? Do you like to work with your hands, or spend a day in the outdoors working on the lawn? If you answered yes to either of these questions, then we’re looking for you! We’re looking for a pool of dedicated volunteers to help us spruce up camp and help our Rangers keep up with the (long!) list of maintenance needs for our Eastside camps (Hamilton and Don Bosco) in the off season. This opportunity is open to anyone with knowledge of basic maintenance skills, such as painting, mowing lawns, hammering nails, and tightening screws. If you have professional skills as a roofer, plumber, welder, electrician, appliance repair, etc. EVEN BETTER! Volunteers commit to 8 hours of service PER MONTH at either Camp Hamilton or Camp Don Bosco(or both!) for a term of one year. This is an excellent way to stay connected to camp and camp friends (you’ll work together!) all year round. AND, like everything in camp, it will be FUN! Please email cyo@seattlearch.org if you are interested.
