In recent years, the Church has called for an evangelization of cultures. Through “Movies that Matter,” we seek to engage American popular culture, discuss it in light of our faith, and reflect on our response to it. Because movies are popular sources of entertainment for young adults and greatly influence our culture, watching and discussing them is a good way to engage and critique society’s underlying messages. Movies will be chosen for their level of cultural impact and influence. Each Movies that Matter event provides opportunities to socialize, watch a movie, and discuss the film with fellow believers.
